Taka Cliffs on a Rainy Sunday

It was raining but the wind was down so decided to have a quick fish off Taka Cliffs on Sunday. Wind and tide lined up for the outgoing tide and I had a huge burly trail dispersing towards Takapuna boat ramp in no time at all. I was using my little PowerFlex soft baiting rod with fresh squid bait and my first cast was hit by a nice 50cm snapper.

I had some fresh/frozen baby KY that my mate Squid had caught on the last trip out. These worked really well butterfly fashion and I managed another couple of mid 50’s snaps. As I decided it was going to be a smash and grab session, I pulled anchor and drifted through my burly trail and managed another 3 snaps to finish off on lightly weighted Zman nuked pilchards (one of my favs).

Great way to spend a rainy Sunday!

Cheers
