With the wild weather we’ve been having lately & not to many windows to get out in the last couple of weeks I was foaming at the mouth to get on the water & slay some shallow water Snaps.
So Sunday looked good Wind wise but not so with the Moon & also figured half of Auckland would be out & about so settled for Monday.

Looked like a weather window on Sunday so grabbed some mates and headed out at 8.30am from Te Atatu. Destination was the bottom end of Waiheke Island looking at heading over to Coromandel Harbour to have a nosey.

With a small window in the weather I decided to shoot out to the back of Ponui Island for a fish.
On the water at first light to make the most of the morning & was surprised to see how calm & flat the sea was.

With only a short window this morning I decided to fish my feet in the shallows out from Pohutakawa Bay
So up early & on the water before dawn so I could catch the start of the incoming tide & bite time which was from 6 till 8.
With a light NW blowing it was so so for the wind & tide together drift.
